We The people Stamps

In this lesson, students are inspired by Amplifier's “We the People” campaign to create their own form of Artivism, a postal stamp. Students reflect on their personal experiences to research a “we the people” message of their choice. This lesson is a great way to incorporate constructivism learning and choice in materials, topics, and techniques.

iconic portraits

In this lesson students create a mixed media portrait by choosing an “iconic” person that is of interest to them. Students experiment with embroidery, collage, markers, oil pastel, and acrylic and watercolor paint. This lesson is a great opportunity to incorporate choice, experimentation, and play.

Collage butterflies

In this lesson students create collages inspired by butterflies. Students will create their collage material by experimenting with a variety of watercolor techniques to color match their butterflies. This is a project that allows students to experiment and practice play with materials. A great lesson for spring-time!
